Topography and Site Engineering for the Andes Norte New Mine Level Project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Andes Norte Investment Project – NNM (New Mine Level) is part of the new Development Plan of the El Teniente Division of CODELCO and aims to develop a new level of exploitation located below the current level of the railway transportation of Teniente 8. This will allow for the exploitation of new ore reserves which in the initial stage will complement current exploitation levels with the incorporation of the Andes Norte Panel with an exploitation capacity of 35,000 t/d. The development plan will allow CODELCO to extend DET’s operation for 50 years.

The Andes North Project (NMM) will require the construction of a new mine and infrastructure for the DET such as: an ore extraction and transportation system, a primary crushing and conveying system inside the mine, new main adits, ventilation systems, water and electricity supply and distribution to points of consumption and drainage systems and support infrastructure for mining operations.
