Technical Inspection of Works for the Aurora Wind Farm Project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A wind power project located in the Llanquihue district in the Los Lagos Region. The wind farm is made up of 43 turbines with a total installed capacity of 129MW, equivalent to the energy consumption of approximately 195,000 homes. It has an underground transmission line with a total length of 223km at 33kV that will carry energy from the turbines to a step-up substation. The energy is then injected into the Central Interconnected System (SIC) through a connection to the 220kV ‘Rahue-Puerto Montt’ trunk transmission line which is owned by Transelec.

The service provided by R&Q consisted of the Technical Inspection of Works and support for the client in the construction of the ‘Aurora Wind Farm’ Project in the district of Llanquihue in the Los Lagos Region. The service included the verification and control of the thorough, comprehensive and timely fulfilment of the obligations established for the EPC contractor.
