PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Road Engineering Study with multidisciplinary scope:

• Firstly, determining the feasibility of road connection, through diversions in the urban areas of Placilla, Nancagua and Cunaco.
• Developing a Traffic Study and Demand Study, considering alternatives to the proposed diversions for analysis.
• Secondly, producing the Detailed Engineering Study which allowed the National Roads Department to call for tenders for the construction of the works. Total length of project – 22.1km. 
• Developing the project for grade-separated railway crossings, specifically in the Centinela and Peñuela sectors.
• Developing a cycle path project to give continuity to bike transportation, from San Fernando to Santa Cruz. Total length – 20.3km.
• Reviewing and updating the Topography that was previously carried out from the Manantiales crossing to Santa Cruz as part of the 2007 Engineering Study “Extension of the Route I-50 replacement, San Fernando-Santa Cruz area” by the National Roads Department, Ministry of Public Works. 

The Detailed Engineering project included the following in its relevant tasks: Dual Carriageway Road Project, Cycle Path Project, Grade-separated Road and Railway Crossings Project, Footbridge Project, Sanitation and Drainage Project, Road Safety Project, Modification of Services Project (Rural Drinking Water), Lighting Project, Study of Expropriations, Environmental-Territorial Study and Citizen Participation.
